Alright...hopefully members aren't dead and they actually show up. I specifically SAID that if you're going to sign up show some commitment. Otherwise you're all wasting the effort of both Kenny and I (Specifically Kenny)
In any case. First topic (even if I didn't want it to be.) But the premiere has me all pumped up. So did anyong catch it. I figure we don't have any CN watchers amongst our regulars but maybe the synopsis and "evaluation"/critque I give will help.

So the episode starts off with your average set up for return sequence. Where some insignificant thing is happening (i.e. Kevin and Gwen are fighting some Snake Alien). And though they're supposed to be getting Ben's help but he's too busy being a complete "dick" after defeating the high breed last season. So he comes in and help.
What's confusing to me apparently is that he contained all of the aliens used from the finale even though he specifically said that the watch was "Zero'd" out and reset. (By reset assuming he gets new aliens but apparently not). He shows up late and Cannonbolt's the snake guy. (With and awesome quip I might add: "How about I call you "Roadkill", - The Snake who made it only half way across the road.")
Meanwhile the lore of what the season was supposed premiere on: "The Return of Vilgax" so instead of being ruthless like how his character has been fuxing rewritten, He absorbs the powers of 10 greatest heroes of 10 worlds. In order to exact revenge on Ben. So he comes to earth and pwns the Plumbers Kids and issues the challenge to Ben. (Which is retarded: He's supposed to be a ruthless bastard with genetic super strength enhancements and not some retard cartoon version of Darksied). Anyways....
Ben with the help of Kevin decides to cheat and hack the Omnitrix's Master Function only to screw up and and Kevin becomes and chimera this time (but of different materials and not aliens). However this time he can morph is body into different weapons (AWESOME). In addition to that Ben loses the respect of the Ominitrix's creator and also loses 4 of his Aliens from his Omintrix and he as less that 24 hrs to find them and show up to his challenge or Earth will be destroyed. The forms that went off (i.e. the Omniforms) are Chromastone, Spidermonkey, Goop, and Way Big. The first 3 he finds in time (Although I got to say Swampfire is now the MOST broken Alien he has).
He doesn't have time to find Way Big and just waits it out since Way Big is on the path to the fight. He stalls out the fight long enough though Vilgax is fuxing cheating since half of his abilities weren't powers but different "super broken" weapons. So Ben gets Way Big back in the middle of the fight and tries to change into him but since he tampered with the Omnitrix it screws up on him and transforms into Chromastone. Vilgax pwns him hard with some weapon he had and breaks Chromastone into pieces. So Vilgax thinks that he has won but some retarded whatever allowed been to reconstruct himself into Diamondhead (Which is SWEET) but when in the hell did he acquire him. And he owns harder than he ever had with that alien. Again...It now confuses me and makes both Chromastone and Diamondhead on the same level of brokeness.
Ben wins. (Again cool quip)
Ben: "Do you surrender?"
Vilgax: "Yes...I will"
Ben: (in serious tone) "Of course, you do"
End of the first 2 episode!
So what bothers me exactly. Vilgax's rewrite. Sure I got angry at retcons for all of the characters when Alien Force FIRST came out. But those retcons were for the better (Although slightly subverted by Kevin and his absorption power) But with Vilgax it was a horrible reinvention of his character. His power in relationship to his original is greated diminished. His voice actor is different. His personality is that of an honorable warrior. And half of his abilities are just fuxing weapons (not mad genetic strength).
Next: Ben's doucheness. You think after 5 years he wouldn't still be that way but he is 15 so I guess that's not much of a problem. But it's the trick that show tries to play on you. The omintrix is damaged somewhat so it now does what it did five years ago (i.e. malfunctions and chooses the wrong alien of the intended selection). But what the hell does that mean. So for instance: He wants to turn into Swampfire and gets Chromostone....so what? He just gets another alien who is indestructible, absorbs energy, fires energy, and has super strength. So in the end that whole notion is retarded
Last thing I'm upset yet somewhat thrilled about. He gets back Diamondhead and he pwns hard. What the fuck?! The only excuse I can think of is that he got awesome with the form within the 5 years BEFORE Alien Force jeez. It was like no effort. (And supposedly Vilgax is supposed to be MORE powerful especially since he matched several of Ben's aliens.) Still WTF? That's all I can truly say on that.
